Insurance account manager

Location: Lichtervelde, West Flanders, Belgium Specialisation: Finance Salary: € 3.200 - € 4.500 gross / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 37.5 h/week Work ritme: Day

Function

As an insurance account manager, you are the point of contact for a portfolio of clients. You combine personal client contact with rigorous administrative follow-up. You regularly visit clients on site to discuss their insurance needs, explain solutions and give presentations.

You build long-term customer relationships and work alongside customers when their circumstances or business change. At the same time, you ensure that agreements are properly followed up behind the scenes.

Specifically, you will:

  • visits clients in person and conducts insurance consultations;
  • gives presentations and clearly explains insurance solutions;
  • analyses clients’ insurance needs and translates them into suitable solutions;
  • further develops existing customer relationships;
  • identifies opportunities within the portfolio;
  • follows up on quotations and insurance files;
  • ensures that administrative procedures are carried out correctly;
  • works closely with colleagues within the office;
  • provides support to clients across various insurance sectors, from personal insurance to business and industry.

You’ll have a wide-ranging role. One moment you’ll be sitting down with a client, the next you’ll be delving into a file to ensure everything is processed correctly from an administrative point of view. It’s precisely this combination that makes this role so interesting.

Profile

For this role, we are not looking for a pure ‘hunter’, nor are we looking for someone who wants to work exclusively on administrative tasks. We are looking for someone who enjoys meeting with clients and who finds satisfaction in ensuring that a file is administratively spot on.

You recognise yourself in the following:

  • You have experience in the insurance sector and possess a good knowledge of the products;
  • You have a business-oriented mindset, but you always put the customer’s needs first;
  • You communicate fluently and are confident during meetings with clients;
  • You work with precision and keep a close eye on your files, even when dealing with administrative tasks;
  • You take the initiative and don’t just wait for someone to tell you what needs to be done;
  • You enjoy working with others and help to create a positive team atmosphere;
  • You’re driven and enjoy a fast-paced environment;
  • You’ll feel at home in a flat organisation where colleagues help one another.

Experience within companies or the industry is an advantage, but what counts most is your combination of insurance knowledge, commercial acumen and administrative accuracy.

Organisation

Our client is a family-run insurance firm with strong local roots in the Ardooie-Lichtervelde region. Over the years, the organisation has grown significantly through a number of acquisitions. Today, the firm serves a broad client base comprising private individuals, businesses and industrial clients.

The organisation deliberately opts for a personal approach. Staff work in teams and are not subject to a strict hierarchical structure or individual targets. The focus is on the collective result.

At the same time, the firm is looking to the future. As part of a larger network, it has clear plans for growth, whilst retaining its local character and short lines of communication. Digitalisation also plays a key role. By automating repetitive internal tasks as much as possible, the firm aims to free up more time for clients.

Offer

You’ll be joining a growing organisation where you’ll be given the opportunity to take on responsibility and help shape its future.

Against this:

  • a fair and competitive remuneration package;
  • meal vouchers;
  • group insurance;
  • hospitalisation insurance;
  • ecocheques;
  • dental insurance;
  • option to lease a bicycle;
  • a development programme in which your role evolves in line with your experience;
  • 20 days’ leave;
  • a 37.5-hour working week with flexible working hours;
  • limited opportunities to work from home;
  • a supportive working environment with a strong team spirit.

And the atmosphere? It’s clearly not confined to the official team-building sessions. Colleagues organise their own pizza nights, after-work get-togethers and little extras around public holidays. Eating lunch together is also part of the culture.
