Purchase clerk

Function

As a truck parts buyer based in the Handzame area, you will be responsible for the entire procurement process and for managing a number of assigned suppliers.

You will ensure efficient collaboration between suppliers, the parts sales team and the warehouse.

Your range of tasks:

• You will handle price enquiries from the sales department and seek out the best procurement solutions
• You will place daily orders and monitor them closely
• You will process order confirmations and monitor delivery times and any waiting periods
• You will follow up on claims and ensure they are processed correctly
• You will check purchase invoices and ensure they are processed correctly
• You will support warehouse operations by creating product references and drawing up stock lists
• You will oversee the flow of information between suppliers, the procurement team, the parts sales department and the warehouse
• You maintain strong relationships with suppliers and conduct procurement negotiations to secure the best partnerships

Profile

Who is our client looking for?

• You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent through experience
• You speak Dutch and English fluently. Knowledge of German and/or French would be a bonus
• You have strong communication skills and enjoy working with attention to detail and in a well-organised, administrative manner
• You have a good understanding of procurement processes and enjoy ensuring that matters are followed up properly
• You are a team player who works well with different departments
• You’re flexible and actively contribute ideas to find solutions
• You are proficient in using standard PC applications, including Excel and ERP systems
