Site Manager

In addition to administrative tasks such as drawing up bills of quantities, placing orders and planning, the site manager's work will mainly be carried out from the building site. The best way to learn a job as a superintendent is to steal with your eyes and ask a lot of questions to colleagues or the manager, who can also be found on site.

For our client specialising in earthworks and roadworks, we are looking for a site manager. Our client has deliberately chosen to focus on smaller works that take on average 1.5 weeks and a maximum of 1 year (smaller sewerage works, subsidence, laying bricks, etc.). The larger projects are deliberately left to one side. Their customers are mainly cities and municipalities, intermunicipal utility companies, etc. The sites are located from the coast (Ostend-De Haan) to Turnhout and everything around it. Because of their open-door culture, everyone knows everyone and they have a beer together on Fridays. In total, 50 colleagues work in the company, including 10 office workers and 40 labourers.

Preferably, they aim for someone with experience and the right diploma (bachelor construction) but this is absolutely not a must, but if you have experience and the right diploma it is better. Because many different smaller projects are handled, you do need to have the right mindset. Since you will be supervising the workers on the site and will be consulting a lot with your colleagues, you are not afraid of the open communication that prevails within the company. Give and take is very important within the company, especially since the job of site manager is not a 9 to 5 job, it is sometimes possible to stop a little earlier if necessary for your private life.
