Function

As a QHSE engineer, your main duties envolve:

  • Auditing
  • Perform internal audits on the management system and on projects
  • Perform audits at subcontractors
  • Supervise certification and customer audits
  • Continuous improvement
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis
  • Follow up on non-conformities and improvement opportunities
  • Optimisation of the management system
  • Internal coaching and consulting
  • Provide training on the management system, internal auditor, Root Cause Analysis, ...
  • Serve as a sounding board / internal consultant for local and project related Quality Officers and Prevention Advisors
  • Encourage others to participate in the continuous improvement process
  • Sensitize management through KPIs, periodic reporting and studies, among others
  • Sensitize colleagues through articles, sustainability reports, etc.
  • Tendering
  • Analysis of customer requirements and providing feedback to the Commercial department
  • Construction of specific files together with the Commercial department in function of potential large projects
  • Sustainability
  • CO2 emission inventory, Life Cycle Analysis
  • Definition and follow-up of actions in function of CO2 reduction and Corporate Sustainability
  • Follow-up of R&D (internal/external) in function of CO2 reduction

Profile

The ideal QHSE Engineer has the following qualities:

  • Is flexible, in terms of location (multiple offices in Belgium, Poland and the UK, subcontractors mainly within Europe) and time (roject-related activities (tenders, audits subcontractors, customer audits) sometimes need to be addressed at very short notice)
  • Leads by example: follows procedures and uses available tools, even when a colleague is not entirely convinced
  • Is digitally proficient: encourages others in the correct use of Sharepoint, ERP and other tools and processes data into attractive reports
  • Speaks and writes English fluently. Knowledge of French and/or Polish also come in handy
  • Has knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001/VCA. Knowledge of ISO50001 / CO2 Performance Ladder or EN1090 / ISO3834 are nice to have
