Product engineer packaging

We are looking for a passionate Product Engineer who will play a crucial role in the development of new products and the continuous optimisation of our existing product portfolio. All with a view to driving our ambitious market growth and sustainable expansion of our business.

As a Product Engineer, you will work on challenging projects, from the concept phase to the final product launch. You will be involved in the full product life cycle, implementing innovations, optimising packaging, and coordinating industrial testing. Collaboration with other departments such as production, supply chain and quality is an essential part of the job.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Optimisation of existing products with a strong focus on packaging innovations.
• Executing product development projects, from idea to launch.
• Contribute to product development based on business cases, taking into account prices, specifications and investments.
• Regular consultation with various internal departments such as production, technical, supply chain and quality to ensure smooth cooperation regarding raw materials, equipment and processes.
• Coordinate industrial testing and accurately monitor results.
• Participate in weekly NPD (New Product Development) meetings.
• Manage administrative tasks such as creating products in the ERP system, preparing checklists and managing labels.

Your profile:

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in a food or packaging field.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar position.
• You have knowledge of HACCP rules and safety regulations.
• After a training period, you will be able to work independently and take initiative.
• You are a team player who can work well with other departments.
• You are entrepreneurial, problem-solving, and have excellent communication skills.
• You have a hands-on mentality and work accurately and proactively.
• You are customer- and service-oriented and enjoy interacting with customers.
• Good knowledge of Dutch and English.
