Maintenance & Project Engineer

As a Maintenance & Project Enigneer, you will join an ambitious and dynamic SME with an international reputation. You will be given a lot of responsibility and taking initiative is encouraged.

You will work a 39-hour week with 10 ADV days on top of your statutory leave. There is no collective leave and there is flexibility in working hours.

As a Maintenance & Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the following range of tasks:

• You will be responsible for managing a small, autonomous team of about 10 employees in the maintenance team who operate very independently.
• Planning for the maintenance service taking into account staffing.
• Oversee timely and competent intervention by the maintenance department.
• Contribute to improving maintenance processes and machinery.
• Ordering materials and reviewing new materials.
• Coordinate internal technical projects (e.g. energy efficiency improvements, new machine purchases,...)
• Work project-based and act as a focal point for projects within the maintenance team.
• Preparation of planning for preventive and curative maintenance on machines and installations in cooperation with planning.
• In the context of safety, you will take initiatives to raise the standard with regard to safety
• Oversee order and cleanliness in the maintenance department and machine environment.
• Approve leave requests and ensure internal communication within your department.
• You will report to the production manager.

Our client operates within extrusion of plastic packaging for the food industry. They have been in existence for more than 65 years and employ around 100 people. Due to an internal shift, they are currently looking for a Maintenance & Project Engineer.

As a Maintenance & Project Engineer, you will largely meet the following requirements:

• You preferably have a higher technical degree or are equivalent through experience.
• Experience in managing teams is a plus.
• You are mature and have a great sense of responsibility.
• You are a people manager and can address any challenges within the team in a constructive way.
• You have experience in project-based work.
• You have a very good knowledge of electromechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics and different types of machinery.
• Knowledge of extrusion is a plus.
• You have a hands-on mentality and sense of responsibility.
• You are a good communicator and have a sense of consultation and collaboration.
• You speak very good Dutch and English.
• You have a good knowledge of MS Office.
