Site Manager

Location: Brussels, Brussels, Belgium Specialisation: Construct Engineering Salary: € 3.500 - € 5.500 gross / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 40 hrs/week Work ritme: Day

Function

How do you keep the site on track every day?

  • As Site Manager industrial construction, you take on the day-to-day organisation of a large-scale industrial construction project. The role is based in Brussels and focuses on a project in the port of Antwerp.
  • You translate the site planning into a clear work organisation: you coordinate activities, monitor progress and intervene in a timely manner when circumstances change.
  • You technically and practically supervise structural and concrete works, with attention to quality, feasibility and correct alignment between the various construction phases.
  • Thanks to your site coordination, subcontractors, workers and specialist partners receive clear agreements, priorities and task allocations.
  • As the first point of contact on site, you keep lines of communication short. You discuss the execution, resolve bottlenecks and ensure that relevant information reaches the right people.
  • You continuously monitor safety, order and the efficient use of people, materials and equipment. In doing so, you create the conditions for a predictable and high-quality execution.
  • You report on progress and work closely with project management and other parties involved to keep planning, quality and profitability in balance.
  • With your presence amongst people, you combine clear direction with respectful collaboration. As a result, your role as site manager grows into a visible added value for the project outcome.

Profile

Are you a leader who enjoys being amongst people?

  • You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or construction; equivalent relevant experience in the construction sector is also valued.
  • You bring approximately 5 to 10 years of experience in site monitoring, preferably within structural work, concrete works, industrial construction or large-scale construction projects.
  • Combining technical insights with a practical outlook comes naturally to you: you understand plans, recognise execution risks and translate information into concrete actions.
  • You communicate clearly with workers, subcontractors, project management and other partners. This is essential to uphold agreements and to raise issues quickly.
  • Taking responsibility, following up consistently and remaining calm in changing circumstances typify your way of working. You provide clear direction whilst maintaining attention to collaboration and safety.

Organisation

Are you looking for an environment where complex challenges and technical expertise come together?

Our client then offers you a working environment with projects that have a visible impact.

Our client is a large Belgian class 8 contractor, specialising in utility construction and complex infrastructure projects. The organisation realises large-scale new-build and renovation projects within the residential, commercial and public sector. The portfolio includes, amongst others, modern hospitals and care institutions, multifunctional office buildings, sustainable schools and university campuses, residential towers and apartment complexes. In addition, civil structures such as tunnels, bridges and other complex infrastructure works are also realised.

Through Design & Build formulas, our client manages projects from the design phase through to final delivery. As main contractor, the organisation coordinates subcontractors, specialist partners, architects, engineering firms and clients. This integrated approach ensures strong monitoring of planning, budget and quality. Innovation plays an important role in this, including through BIM and other digital applications that make construction processes more efficient.

Sustainability is also a fixed pillar. By reusing materials, limiting waste streams and reducing the ecological footprint of projects, work is being done towards a more circular construction sector. On every site, great attention is also paid to safety and health. You will join an organisation that realises complex and often iconic projects, makes existing heritage future-proof and delivers turn-key solutions that clients can put into use immediately.
