Transport Coordinator
Function
As a Transport Coordinator at Scanfor, you’ll play a key role in organising efficient international transport flows across Europe. Based at the office in Wommelgem, you’ll work closely with customers, hauliers and drivers to ensure that every consignment runs smoothly from loading to unloading. With a strong focus on Scandinavia, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and optimising road transport operations. Daily coordination and maintaining professional relationships are key aspects of your role, whilst you strive for the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Planning and organising international road transport, with a strong focus on Scandinavia.
- Negotiating with transport providers and subcontractors to ensure the best value for money.
- Maintain daily contact with customers, drivers and partners.
- Monitoring shipments, deadlines and the relevant documentation.
- Working proactively to optimise margins and processes
Profile
We are looking for someone with a commercial mindset, excellent organisational skills and a thorough knowledge of the transport sector in Europe.:
- At least 3–5 years’ experience as a charterer, freight forwarder or planner is a significant advantage.
- Knowledge of groupage is an added advantage.
- Excellent negotiation skills and a commercial mindset.
- In-depth knowledge of the European transport market.
- Stress-resistant, precise and solution-oriented.
- Fluency in Dutch and English; knowledge of French is an advantage.

Our client has specialised in organising transport operations across Europe – both FTL and LTL – for 30 years. They operate from eight locations across Europe and employ 120 staff.
