Technical Draughtsman

Function

As a Technical Draughtsman, you are a vital link in the process.

• You will be responsible for converting designs into technical drawings that can be used directly in the workshop.
• The work mainly comprises residential projects, including bespoke steelwork such as staircases, handrails, landings and doors… Occasionally, a number of industrial projects may also be included.
• As well as drafting, you will occasionally visit sites to take measurements and carry out checks, using the 3D scanner.
• You will mainly be working with Inventor 3D and AutoCAD 2D, and will produce clear assembly drawings so that the assembly team knows exactly what to do.

Profile

Experience and skills are paramount in this role. We are looking for someone who:

• At least 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the metal industry.
• Experience with Inventor 3D and AutoCAD 2D.
• Has technical insight and is able to think in a problem-solving way.
• Works in a practical and precise manner, with an eye for detail and a focus on the finish.
• Has a good knowledge of MS Office.
• Has strong communication skills and works well as part of a team.
• Is willing to travel to sites from time to time to carry out measurements and holds a Category B driving licence.
• Has a hands-on approach and works in a results-oriented manner.
• Speaks Dutch fluently.

Our client is a dynamic metalworking company based in Beveren that specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke metal structures in steel, stainless steel and aluminium. They combine traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques and create everything from industrial structures to architectural and interior design solutions. They also provide support with technical and maintenance work for businesses. They currently have around 12 employees and are looking to expand their drafting team.
