Stability Engineer

Function

As a structural engineer, you will contribute to a wide range of construction projects in East and West Flanders. You will translate concepts into technical structural solutions and oversee projects from the design stage through to completion.

Your main duties are:

• carrying out stability calculations and developing technical solutions for load-bearing structures;
• the preparation and monitoring of structural stability assessments for small-scale refurbishments, apartment blocks, schools and industrial buildings;
• co-ordinating with architects, clients, contractors and fellow engineers to produce a feasible and high-quality project proposal;
• contributing ideas for practical, efficient and sustainable solutions within each project;
• preparing plans and documentation, in close collaboration with draughtsmen and other disciplines;
• Limited site follow-up: 80% design work compared with 20% on site.

Profile

Your profile:

• you hold a qualification industrial engineer or civil engineer, preferably in civil engineering;
• you have a keen interest in stability, structural engineering and devising structural solutions;
• You work with precision, think analytically and are able to accurately translate technical information into a report;
• you communicate easily with colleagues and external partners;
• You can work independently, but also work well as part of a team;
• you have a very good command of Dutch, both written and spoken;
• you have knowledge of AutoCAD; Revit is a plus;
• Knowledge of calculation software and a basic understanding of BIM are valuable assets.

Previous work experience is not required. What is more important is that you work accurately, have technical insight and are willing to develop your skills further in the areas of stability and structural engineering project management.
