Site manager roadworks
Function
As Site Manager You represent the daily operation on site. You are present on site, monitor the progress of the work and ensure that all technical, organisational and safety aspects are followed correctly. You work closely with colleagues from different disciplines and ensure that everyone has the right information to work smoothly.
Your responsibilities include:
- Based on plans and documents, determine what tasks, materials and resources are needed
- Organising site layout with attention to safety and workability
- Support, guide and manage internal teams and subcontractors
- Preparing daily activities and ensuring everyone receives clear instructions
- Providing technical explanations on work to be carried out
- Placing orders to ensure smooth progress of works
- Check and plot dimensions and levels, if necessary with support from specialists
- Monitoring project progress according to planning and specifications
- Checking the quality of the work carried out
- Keeping daily records and reporting to the project manager
- Monitor returns and proactively adjust where necessary
- Participating in improvements and optimisations within the site operation
- Lead consultations to discuss works on the site
Profile
For this vacancy based in Puurs, we are looking for someone who likes structure, has a technical interest and is good at dealing with people and responsibilities.
You recognise yourself in the following:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in structural engineering, or relevant experience in a similar position
- Strong technical and spatial insight
- Leadership qualities and a natural way of communicating with different profiles
- Ability to take decisions and responsibility independently
- Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to combine different tasks
- Administrative skills and a structured working style
- Flexibility in terms of hours and travel
- Good knowledge of Dutch; knowledge of French is an advantage
- Enthusiasm to learn and develop further within the industry
