Site Manager
Function
As Site Manager You will support the day-to-day organisation and monitoring of work on site. You will work closely with operational teams, subcontractors, suppliers and project managers to ensure that the schedule, quality and safety agreements are adhered to correctly. This role offers a great opportunity to further develop your experience in site supervision.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate and monitor day-to-day operations on the construction site.
- Monitor the schedule and identify practical issues in good time.
- Provide clear instructions to staff, subcontractors and suppliers.
- To monitor the quality of the work carried out and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Actively comply with the safety regulations and internal procedures.
- Report on the progress of the works to the project management.
- Providing practical support in organising materials, site equipment and staff deployment.
- Consult with the various parties involved and ensure smooth communication on site.
Profile
For this role, we are looking for a hands-on and responsible professional with experience, or with a relevant technical background and a strong motivation to develop as a site manager. You feel at ease in a dynamic working environment and are able to maintain an overview when multiple tasks need to be managed simultaneously.
We generally expect:
- A technical qualification, for example in construction, infrastructure, electromechanics or a similar field.
- Preferably experience in site supervision, project delivery, assembly, construction or a technical working environment.
- A good organisational approach and the ability to set priorities.
- Practical insight and a sufficient level of technical interest to assess work correctly.
- Clear communication skills when liaising with colleagues, subcontractors and project managers.
- A meticulous and independent approach to work, combined with a sense of responsibility.
- A willingness to strictly enforce safety rules and to hold colleagues to account in this regard.
- A good knowledge of Dutch; knowledge of French or English would be an advantage.
Organisation
Our client operates in the fields of hydraulic engineering, infrastructure and environmental engineering. The company carries out projects including quay walls, bridges, jetties, dykes, locks, dredging works, bank protection and soil remediation. In addition, they have experience in heavy lifting operations and in the construction and capping of landfill sites.
