Senior Project Leader

Function

As a project manager, you will have a very wide range of duties. Below is a sample of your tasks:

• Leading and motivating project teams consisting of about 10 employees.
• You directly manage about 2 project managers.
• You will organise and plan the works and also monitor costs during the projects.
• During the implementation phase, you will monitor progress and ensure that everything goes according to plan.
• You adopt an empathetic and connecting attitude towards all teams and are a true manager who commands respect and stands beside his/her people.
• Ultimately responsible for the projects where you mainly pull the more complex cases towards you.
• Working closely with management, sales to win projects and seek technical solutions.

Profile

They are currently looking for a senior project manager to join the team. Ideally, you will largely meet the following characteristics:

• Industrial or civil engineer by education or equivalent by experience.
• You already have contracting experience within coatings, infrastructure works and/or hydraulic engineering.
• Experience in leading teams and large projects.
• If you have knowledge of tender files, this is a plus, but this can also be taught.
• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
• You have strong leadership qualities with empathy and connection as core values.
• You are practical minded and have a hands-on mentality.
• Motivator capable of building and growing a team.
• You like short lines of communication and a flat structure.
• You are flexible and willing to work both in the office and on site.

Organisation

Our client is a leading global player in environmentally friendly coatings. These coatings are mainly used to protect against corrosion and are applied in various sectors such as marine, offshore, petrochemical, shipping,... They manage both production and have their own branch within the contracting business where they apply the coatings themselves. They are classified as a class 6 contractor for these works in Belgium, but also do assignments in the Netherlands as a contractor. They have been active for over 35 years and are looking for a senior project manager within their contracting branch to strengthen their team.
