Function

Are you an engineer with commercial ambitions and do you want to conquer both the Belgian and international markets? Are you looking for the ideal mix between technical advice, new business and relationship management within the innovative world of the brewing and beverage industry? Then this position of Sales Manager / Sales Engineer at our client is the perfect next step in your career! We are looking for an enterprising sales professional with an engineering background and a passion for both technology and commerce.

As Sales Manager / Sales Engineer, you are responsible for the commercial expansion of the Belgian market, with an autonomous role towards France and further international expansion. You combine actively winning new customers with building long-term relationships with existing partners.

Your tasks:

  • Proactively identify new business opportunities in Belgium, France and beyond; you focus on business development and take initiative in market approach.
  • Build and manage sustainable, strategic relationships with customers and partners in the brewing and beverage industry.
  • Giving technical advice and translating customer needs into well-considered solutions in consultation with the engineering team.
  • Independently monitor the entire sales process: from prospecting, quotation preparation to successful closing.
  • Represent our client at trade fairs, networking events and with customers, both nationally and internationally.
  • Manage and develop the local agent network.
  • Administrative follow-up through the CRM system and reporting to management.
  • Average 20-30% travel.

Profile

We are looking for an engineer who is technically strong and commercially driven, and who gets excited about tapping into and expanding a client portfolio.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (industrial, electromechanical, etc.) or equivalent through experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in B2B sales, preferably of technical equipment, capital goods or industrial solutions.
  • Experience in sales within the Belgian market, knowledge of the French/European market is a plus.
  • Affinity or experience with the brewing and beverage industry is a great asset.
  • You are a true hunter (new business) as well as a farmer (relationship management).
  • You are fluent in Dutch and French, a good knowledge of English is also necessary.
  • Strong technical understanding, customer-oriented and able to present solutions clearly.
  • Proactive, independent, results-oriented and a hands-on mentality.
  • Driving licence B and willing to travel (mainly Belgium & France, with international opportunities).
