QC Teamlead

Function

As QC Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing the quality control department. Through your strong leadership, you will ensure that products meet the highest quality standards and that the department operates efficiently. You will lead a team of three, work closely with production and NPD (New Product Development), and optimise processes to create a mature quality culture.

Some of your responsibilities:

• Ensuring the QC department runs efficiently and in an organised manner.
• Daily analysis and optimisation of quality parameters in collaboration with production and NPD.
• Contribute to structural quality improvements and attend the Product Leadership Meeting.
• Making decisions regarding the release, hold and re-inspection of products.
• Monitoring product transfers and supporting new production lines.
• Keeping QC documentation up to date and ensuring compliance with standards such as IFS and HACCP.
• Providing coaching-style leadership to the QC team and carrying out sampling, verifications and checks.
• Reporting QC results and following up on action points.

Profile

We are looking for someone with:

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• At least 3–5 years’ experience in quality control, preferably in the food industry.
• Analytical skills and the ability to make decisions based on facts and data.
• A coaching style of leadership and a strong personality to motivate and develop the team.
• An understanding of production processes; experience gained solely in a laboratory setting is too limited.
• Knowledge of IFS standards and HACCP.
• Proficiency in Excel, as many quality systems are managed using Excel.
• Communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders.
• Excellent command of Dutch; a basic knowledge of English is sufficient.

Organisation

You will be joining an internationally expanding food manufacturer specialising in bakery products. From their headquarters in Erpe-Mere, they combine high-tech production with support services such as R&D, supply chain management, quality control, and more. From this site, they mainly supply frozen products to professional customers both at home and abroad. To support the QC team, they are currently looking for a team lead.
