Purchasing Coordinator
Function
To support the growth of our client based in Bruges, we are looking for a Purchasing Coordinator.
You will be responsible for managing activities relating to the procurement of raw materials and packaging, and for monitoring their implementation, to ensure that these are available in a timely manner in line with the production requirements of the Bruges site.
You will work alongside various departments within the company (area coordinator, buyers, planners, etc.) and report directly to the Logistics Manager.
What else will your role involve in this position?
- Placing, monitoring and processing purchase orders in response to requirements
- Monitoring and anticipating planning and developments within the plant
- Monitoring and determining stock levels and resolving any stock issues
- Checking the shelf life of raw materials
- Identifying new suppliers and providing information (forecasts) to buyers, suppliers and the service centre to facilitate negotiations
- As an IT superuser, provide guidance, resolve issues and support users with the systems
- Keep up to date with developments in the commodities market by visiting suppliers and trade fairs
- Tracking certificates and other documents relating to raw materials and packaging
- Monitoring compliance with environmental, quality and food safety regulations
Profile
What sort of candidate is our client in Bruges looking for to fill the vacant position of Purchasing Coordinator?
- Have you graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/Supply Chain Management? If so, you’ll certainly be eligible
- Do you already have several years’ experience as a buyer in a manufacturing environment? If so, you’re exactly the person our client is looking for
- You have knowledge of logistics processes within production, stock management and planning
- At our client’s company, you can learn and develop throughout your entire career. They actively encourage and support their employees in their ongoing development
- You are able to plan your own work independently within a team environment, taking into account priority requirements and external planning deadlines
- You have strong IT skills and knowledge of ERP. Knowledge of ETQ and APO would be an advantage
- You can express yourself fluently in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
- You enjoy liaising with a wide range of internal and external parties; you communicate openly and clearly with a positive attitude and are customer-focused
Organisation
Our client is a food company based in the centre of historic Bruges that produces enzymes and is part of a listed company.
The enzymes are used in the production of, amongst other things, beer, bread, animal feed, biofuels, textiles, detergents, …
Enzyme production is a high-tech and complex biochemical process. Our client is therefore proud of the specialist expertise it possesses.
