Project Manager

Location: Mechelen, Antwerp, Belgium Specialisation: Construct Engineering Salary: € 3.000 - € 5.500 gross / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 40 hrs/week Work ritme: Day

Function

  • As a Project Manager in Halen, you will oversee a large-scale infrastructure project relating to battery storage, with execution starting in 2027 and running for several years.
  • The technical and structural preparation receives your attention: you ensure that the substrate, trenches and other provisions are ready to install cables safely and efficiently.
  • For the electrical section, you coordinate the cabling works, monitor the execution and safeguard the connection between planning, technical requirements and site practice.
  • You keep planning, materials, subcontractors and working methods clearly organised, so that the works progress smoothly and bottlenecks become visible in good time.
  • You work together with site management, technicians, clients and other partners. Clear communication makes the difference between a plan on paper and a project that is executed correctly on site.
  • Monitoring quality, safety, progress and administration is part of your responsibility. You report clearly and translate technical information into concrete actions.
  • You work from Halen and are regularly involved at the project site in Bilzen. Work takes place during daytime hours, without weekend work.
  • Alongside this specific project, you will have the opportunity to build experience within an organisation active in rail infrastructure, overhead lines, signalling and installation works.

Profile

  • A qualification in construction or a comparable technical discipline provides a solid foundation. Candidates with a technical diploma and relevant practical experience are also considered.
  • You preferably already have initial experience in infrastructure, cabling, structural preparation or a similar project environment.
  • Technical drawings, work instructions and schedules do not put you off. You do not need to know everything already, but you want to understand how structural and electrical works connect with one another.
  • You communicate clearly with various stakeholders and are not afraid to ask questions. This is important for recording agreements correctly and preventing problems from escalating into delays.
  • A structured, curious and solution-oriented work attitude will help you quickly take on responsibility as a project coordinator while continuing to work with care and precision.

Organisation

Our client is active in energy and mobility infrastructure and delivers projects relating to grid connections, cable networks, public lighting and a variety of mobility solutions such as rail, overhead lines and signalling. With a strong focus on safety, sustainability and technical expertise, projects are efficiently managed from start to completion.

Offer

  • A full-time position as a Project Manager within a technically strong organisation working on high-profile infrastructure projects with a long lead time.
  • A market-competitive salary in line with your education between €3,000–€4,500, relevant experience and responsibilities, supplemented by the usual fringe benefits.
  • A predictable working pattern during daytime hours, without weekend work, with Halen as the main base and travel to the project site when required.
  • A project of approximately three to four years in which you gain experience in both structural preparation and electrical cabling.
  • Guidance from experienced colleagues and the opportunity to develop further towards project coordination, site supervision or a broader project management role.
  • A working environment within a larger technical group with an extensive range of machinery and expertise in complex infrastructure works.
