Steel project manager

Function

• You will be responsible for monitoring all steel-related work in the renovation of the Vilvoorde viaduct. The steel work is mainly subcontracted. Preservation of the steel is also subcontracted and monitored by you.
• You will monitor the interfaces between steel construction and conservation, and the other disciplines on the project.
• As a steel project manager, you will work closely with our main project manager and main yard manager, HSE coordinator and quality coordinator.
• You ensure that the all parties fulfil their obligations and agreements, both administratively and in execution.
• You actively follow up the planning, ensure that the necessary quality checks are carried out and monitor safety. To this end, you make regular site tours.
• You manage the budget, handle the monthly progress reports of the subcontractors, keep the overview regarding additional/minor works
• You bring stakeholders around the table, identify identified issues and ensure their sustainable resolution.
• You will also coordinate with the engineering office, the quality control office and the customer.
• Upon completion of this huge project, we are sure to have other exciting steel projects for you!

Profile

• Ideally, you will have a degree in Civil Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Experience outweighs degree in this regard.
• Preferably, you hold a VCA-VOL certificate or are willing to obtain it at short notice.
• In addition, you speak Dutch fluently and can also express yourself well in English and French.
• Furthermore, you excel in communication and leadership, and make decisions effectively.
• Moreover, you are a real problem solver who can change gears quickly.
• Flexibility with regard to working hours is a matter of course for you.
• Finally, you can work well with MS Office and preferably also MS Project.
