Project Manager, Mechanical Engineering
Function
As a Mechanical Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple technical projects. You will oversee the entire project lifecycle and ensure that agreements regarding timing, budget, quality and scope are adhered to.
Specifically, as a Mechanical Engineering Project Manager, you will:
- Managing several international mechanical engineering projects simultaneously, from start-up to successful handover.
- Monitor the entire project schedule and closely track key milestones.
- Monitor the scope, timing, budget and quality of each project.
- Report regularly to management on the progress of projects.
- Identify potential problems, delays or risks in good time and devise practical solutions to address them.
- Ensure that projects meet the established internal and external quality standards.
- Work closely with various internal departments, including Sales, Engineering/Design, Procurement, R&D and Operations.
- Help monitor the technical and operational feasibility of projects.
- Act as the main point of contact for international clients during the project’s implementation.
- Regularly visit clients and projects abroad. You are willing to spend at least 30% of your time travelling internationally.
- To contribute to the further optimisation and standardisation of the internal project methodology and project processes.
Profile
For this role as Project Manager in Mechanical Engineering, we are looking for someone with a strong technical background who has experience in structuring and managing complex projects. You combine technical insight with organisational skills, a customer-focused approach and strong communication skills.
As a Mechanical Engineering Project Manager, you will recognise yourself in the following:
- Ideally, you will hold a Master’s degree in Electromechanics, Mechanical Engineering or another relevant technical discipline, or have equivalent experience.
- You have relevant experience in technical project management, preferably in mechanical engineering, industrial plant, engineering or a similar technical field.
- Experience with the Stage-Gate methodology or a similar structured project approach would be an advantage.
- You’re good at planning, organising and keeping track of deadlines.
- You can manage several large-scale projects at the same time without losing track of them.
- You ensure that the agreed project scope is adhered to and are able to set priorities when the pressure mounts.
- You have a keen interest in technology and technical solutions.
- You are customer-oriented, communicatively strong and solution-oriented.
- You speak and write English fluently due to the international nature of the role.
- You are willing to travel internationally for approximately 30% or more of your working hours.
Organisation
You will be joining an international high-tech engineering company in the Deinze area that develops advanced machinery, components and software solutions for industrial coating processes.
The technology is used worldwide in applications such as energy-efficient glass, displays, solar panels, batteries and other innovative industrial applications. The company combines in-house engineering, R&D and manufacturing to deliver complete technological installations for international clients.
