Function

As a project manager in the construction industry, you will be responsible for the following range of tasks:

• You will be responsible for the complete realisation of construction projects from A to Z.
• You are the guiding force behind the successful project progress.
• You will be the point of contact for the entire construction team (client, designer, engineering office, site personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.).
• You will be responsible for multiple projects.
• You will set up and coordinate planning and site progress.
• You will monitor the financial statement and prepare requisition statements.
• You manage the team of in-house workers and subcontractors.
• You are responsible for safety, quality and budget.
• You will conclude contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
• You carry out regular site visits.
• You will lead site meetings with principal, architect, engineering firm,...
• You report directly to the management.

Profile

As a project manager, you largely meet the following requirements:

• You enjoyed a bachelor's or master's degree in a construction engineering field or are equivalent through experience.
• You already have initial experience in a construction engineering, managerial position.
• Experience in public procurement is a plus.
• You can work independently and enjoy taking responsibility.
• You have a passion for the construction industry.
• You enjoy strong people management skills.
• You are able to properly organise and follow up complex construction projects.
• You have a good technical insight.
• You are communicative/commercial minded.
• You speak very good Dutch. A good basic English and French is useful.
• You hold a driving licence B.

Organisation

Our client is a class 8 construction company that has been around for more than 35 years. They work mainly for the private B2B market as well as for the public sector. They specialise in commercial, industrial and office construction. Their sites are mainly located in the triangle Antwerp, Brussels and the coast. They have about 100 employees and, due to growth, are currently looking for a Project Manager.
