Project Engineer with Schneider Electric knowledge

Location: Hooglede-Gits, West Flanders, Belgium Specialisation: Engineering Salary: € 3.600 - € 5.200 gross / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 40 hrs/week Work ritme: Day

Function

  • As Project Engineer you take technical ownership of challenging projects in HVAC automation and smart building automation. You ensure that technical installations work together reliably, efficiently and comfortably.
  • You design, configure and programme HVAC and building management systems using the EcoStruxure Building Operation platform (EBO), tailored to the needs of each building and project.
  • From BACnet, Modbus and IP to KNX: you integrate various protocols, installations and smart components into one clear and well-functioning building management system.
  • You translate complex control strategies into practical automation solutions that help reduce energy consumption and improve comfort for building users.
  • You carry out I/O and functional tests, analyse deviations and oversee commissioning and functional handover on site. This ensures that the installation is correct not only on paper, but also in practice.
  • Technical dossiers, I/O lists, functional descriptions and as-built documentation form an important part of your work. Thanks to your clear documentation, clients and colleagues can move forward with ease.
  • As the technical point of contact, you advise clients and project managers on complex automation challenges. You also support less experienced colleagues and share knowledge that makes the entire team stronger.
  • You work in a people-focused organisation with short lines of communication, a flat structure and expertise across the entire journey: from engineering and panel building to installation, building management and operational handover.

Profile

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in electromechanics, automation or a comparable technical field provides a solid foundation for this role.
  • You are familiar with the Schneider Electric portfolio.
  • You bring approximately 3 to 5 years of experience in HVAC automation, building management systems or a similar technical project environment. Experience with EBO is important; knowledge of older systems such as TAC Vista or Xenta is a welcome bonus for migration projects.
  • PLC programming, for example in Function Block Diagram or Script, and protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, IP and KNX are your familiar territory or represent skills you can demonstrably develop quickly.
  • An analytical mindset helps you to quickly get to the core of faults and complex control issues. You communicate clearly with clients, project managers and technicians, because a good solution only gains value when everyone understands it.
  • As a project engineer and automation engineer, you combine technical precision with initiative, a eagerness to learn and a collaborative spirit. You take responsibility for your work and share your knowledge without losing sight of practical reality.

  • Through specialist training and access to up-to-date technical knowledge in EBO and building automation, you continue to develop your expertise.
