Function

As a Mechanical Engineering Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical design and supervision of bespoke, automated systems. You will translate the client’s requirements into a technically feasible solution and oversee the project from the engineering stage through to handover.

  • You will design and engineer bespoke industrial systems.
  • You will produce technical drawings, bills of materials, specifications and other project documentation.
  • You will mainly be working with 3D CAD software and ensuring that designs are technically and manufacturably feasible.
  • You will coordinate your projects with production, procurement and planning departments and ensure that the set deadlines are met.
  • You will liaise with Application Engineers and Sales to translate customer enquiries into concrete technical solutions.
  • You will work alongside Electrical Design Engineers and PLC programmers on the integration of electrical control systems and automation.
  • You ensure that designs comply with the applicable CE directives, safety standards and internal engineering standards.
  • Where necessary, you will support the commissioning and start-up of installations at customers’ premises.
  • You will actively contribute ideas on standardisation, cost optimisation and improvements to existing designs.
  • As a Mechanical Engineering Project Engineer, you will contribute to the further development of new technical solutions and system capabilities.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Project Engineer with a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a keen interest in mechanical design, mechanical engineering and project-based engineering. You do not need to have a full grasp of all the technologies just yet, but you should be keen to take on responsibility and contribute with a solution-oriented approach.

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in Electromechanics, Mechanics or an equivalent technical qualification.
  • Ideally, you will have experience in project engineering, mechanical engineering or industrial systems.
  • You have experience with 3D CAD software; knowledge of Autodesk Inventor is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of EPLAN and/or Siemens PLC would be an advantage, but is not essential.
  • You have knowledge of, or an interest in, CE regulations and machine safety.
  • You work in a structured manner and maintain an overview of various technical aspects, deadlines and the parties involved.
  • You are a good communicator and enjoy working alongside colleagues from various technical disciplines.
  • You take responsibility for your projects and actively seek solutions when technical challenges arise.
  • A good command of Dutch is essential.
  • You also have a good knowledge of English due to the international working environment.

Organisation

As a Mechanical Engineering Project Engineer, you will be joining an international technology company in the Deinze area, specialising in industrial spraying and nozzle technology. The company develops solutions for a wide range of industrial applications, including coating, cooling, cleaning, humidification, lubrication and other production processes.

The Belgian site is responsible for, amongst other things, developing and building bespoke, automated sprinkler systems. Engineering and production are located close to one another, which means that, as a Project Engineer, you are directly involved in bringing your designs to life.

The organisation operates internationally and has various production sites around the world. Locally, you will be working in a technical environment where R&D, project engineering and production work closely together.

Offer

In return for your work as a Mechanical Engineering Project Engineer, you can look forward to an attractive salary package within an international technical organisation. The specific offer will be tailored to your experience and technical background.

  • A competitive gross monthly salary based on knowledge and experience.
  • Non-statutory benefits in addition to the gross salary.
  • A full-time role within a stable international organisation.
  • Working from a modern technical facility in Deinze.
  • A role offering a great deal of autonomy and responsibility for your own projects.
  • Direct collaboration with engineering, production, procurement, automation and sales.
  • Technically challenging bespoke projects rather than repetitive standard engineering.
  • Opportunities for personal development within project engineering and mechanical engineering.
  • An international working environment with projects and applications across various industrial sectors
