Project Engineer

Function

We are looking for a motivated Project Engineer on behalf of our client, who is interested in technical projects within the fields of energy, automation and electromechanics.

You will be joining a professional team where you will work alongside experienced project engineers and technical specialists. To begin with, you will support various projects and gain a thorough understanding of how things work, the processes involved and the technical applications. As you gain more experience, you will take on increasing responsibility.

Your duties will include:

• To contribute to technical projects both at home and abroad.
• Providing support with the preparation, planning and monitoring of projects.
• Assist with the development of electrical and electromechanical designs.
• Working alongside the e-plan draughtsman and other technical colleagues.
• Provide support with PLC programming and the preparation of technical tests.
• Assisting with FAT testing prior to the handover of a system.
• Providing support with the commissioning and start-up of installations on site.
• Assisting with SAT tests and technical handover procedures at the client’s premises.
• In due course, learn how to carry out work on technical installations.
• Providing support for maintenance contracts and service activities.
• Assisting with technical documentation and project administration.
• Gradually take on customer contact and technical follow-up.

You’ll start in a support role and progress step by step to a position in which you’ll manage projects independently from preparation through to completion.

Profile

For this Project Engineer vacancy, we are looking for a technically-minded and keen-to-learn candidate.

You possess:

• A degree in industrial engineering (electromechanics, electrical engineering or automation) or an equivalent technical qualification.
• You have some initial work experience, or you are a motivated school leaver.
• A keen interest in energy, automation and electromechanical systems.
• A basic understanding of PLCs, electrical diagrams or control engineering is an advantage, but not a requirement.
• A keen to learn and proactive attitude.
• A meticulous and organised approach to work.
• Good communication skills and a strong team spirit.
• The motivation to further develop your technical skills.
• A good command of Dutch and a basic knowledge of French and English.
• A willingness to travel to projects and clients both at home and abroad.
