Project Engineer

Function

We are looking for a [position] for our client Project Engineer who helps shape technical projects and translates them into clear, feasible and customer-focused installations within the Benelux. In this role, you will act as a key link between sales, engineering, installation and service, ensuring that projects are technically sound, practically feasible and properly monitored. Your role is varied and combines project monitoring with technical draughting and consultation both on site and at the client’s premises. You will contribute to both greenfield and brownfield projects and actively contribute ideas on the best layout, connection and integration of industrial machinery and installations.

• You create technical layouts in AutoCAD and develops existing layouts based on on-site measurements.
• You will visit clients in the Benelux to accurately assess the site or project situation.
• You will liaise with the project team and the technical staff regarding technical requirements, feasibility and timing.
• You take into account steam, power, weights, technical constraints and existing infrastructure.
• You translate the client’s needs into a comprehensive, technically sound solution.
• You monitor projects closely and communicate clearly, both internally and externally, about their progress.
• You adopt a confident, professional manner when liaising with clients.

You will report to the project manager and work in an environment where technical precision, collaboration and a healthy dose of independence are key.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a technically-minded candidate with a strong grounding in electromechanics and a keen interest in project-based work. Given the combination of drafting, client contact and technical coordination, this role is suited to someone who thinks analytically, works in a structured manner and communicates effectively.

• You have a a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electromechanics or an equivalent technical qualification.
• Ideally, you should have several years of experience.
• You mastered AutoCAD fluent; knowledge of Inventor or SolidWorks is a plus.
• You have a strong technical aptitude, with a particular interest in electricity and, preferably, knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics and steam engineering.
• Experience in an industrial environment is a key asset, for example in piping, sprinkler systems, technical installations or similar projects.
• You communicate fluently in English, as that is the working language for the role; Dutch is important for internal collaboration.
• You are willing to travel regularly within the Benelux for site surveys and project monitoring.
• You are meticulous, customer-focused and flexible, and you know how to remain professional and steadfast even in challenging discussions.
• Knowledge of AREI is a nice bonus.

Their branch in Wetteren is specifically responsible for installation, sales and service activities within the Benelux region.
