Project Engineer

Location: Lokeren, East Flanders, Belgium Specialisation: Engineering Salary: € 3.000 - € 4.000 gross / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 40 hrs/week Work ritme: Day

Function

As a Project Engineer, you will contribute to fire detection projects that help ensure the safety of industrial and commercial environments. You will act as the technical link between design, preparation, implementation and handover, ensuring that every project is carried out accurately and in accordance with the applicable standards. You will be given broad responsibility and the opportunity to gain further expertise in fire detection within an innovative and growing technical environment.

Your tasks:

  • You will design fire detection systems from start to finish for industrial and commercial projects.
  • You will draw up layout plans and diagrams in accordance with the applicable standards and the client’s specifications.
  • You will prepare test reports, lists and documentation for the commissioning of new installations.
  • You will compile as-built records and keep them up to date.
  • You will contribute your input on risk analyses, fire scenarios and the relevant Belgian and European legislation.
  • You liaise with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard and on time.
  • You will monitor the schedule and ensure that project administration is carried out correctly.
  • You will support the handover process and ensure that each file is completed fully and accurately.

You’ll be joining an environment where knowledge-sharing and support are key. Thorough training is provided so that you can develop into an expert in fire detection.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a motivated Project Engineer who wishes to develop their skills further within a technically challenging environment. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field provides a strong foundation, but your eagerness to learn, attention to detail and hands-on approach are just as important. Experience in fire detection is not a requirement. Thanks to a thorough training programme, you will have the opportunity to delve deeper into the subject step by step and develop into an expert.

Your profile:

  • You have a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field.
  • You work accurately, structured and have an eye for detail.
  • You have an analytical mind and a solution-oriented approach.
  • You communicate fluently and customer-focused.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team, but you’re also happy to take on responsibility independently.
  • You are keen to learn and want to gain a deeper understanding of technical standards and regulations.
  • Experience with technical drawings, project management or CAD software is a real asset, but not essential.
  • An interest in safety engineering, technical installations or project management would be an advantage.

Organisation

Our client is an established player specialising in fire safety. They design, install and maintain innovative fire detection systems for a wide range of professional environments. Thanks to their strong technical expertise and customer-focused approach, they deliver reliable, bespoke solutions and oversee projects from design through to handover.

Offer

You’ll be joining a growing and technically challenging environment where you can expect a competitive salary package, supplemented by a comprehensive range of fringe benefits. You’ll also have every opportunity to develop your skills further through training, mentoring and career progression opportunities.

Among other things, you can count on:

  • A competitive salary, commensurate with your experience and expertise.
  • A company car with fuel or charge card.
  • Meal vouchers of €10 per day worked.
  • Hospitalisation and group insurance.
  • A bicycle lease scheme.
  • A 40-hour working week with 12 days of time off in lieu.
  • Comprehensive training and support to help you develop further.
  • A pleasant working atmosphere within a small, close-knit team where collaboration and open communication are key.
