Production Manager

Function

As Production Manager, you will be responsible for the complete management of the production department in Meise (VLAB, BE). You coordinate and optimise the production processes to guarantee qualitative end results. A key focus is on leading a team of around 25 employees in the production of metal, stainless steel, wood, marble and glass. Below your main tasks and responsibilities:

• Manage and develop production policy, including prioritisation.
• Planning and organising the use of machinery and working hours.
• Monitor production progress and machine efficiency; take action on deviations.
• Optimising production times, material consumption and working capital.
• Prepare and manage the operating budget.
• Work on training, motivating and coaching employees.
• Ensuring a safe and structured working environment.
• Collaborate with work preparation, project managers and other departments.
• Doing drawing work yourself and thinking along in practical solutions where needed.

Profile

For this dynamic position, we are looking for a candidate who recognises himself in the profile below:

• Minimum 5-10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with a focus on metalworking or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in leading teams of various experience levels.
• Preferably a Bachelor's or Master's degree, but relevant experience may compensate.
• Skill in planning and organising work and resources.
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch; basic knowledge of French and English is a plus.
• Willingness to start early (6:30am start time, 8am working day) and flexible thinking beyond the 9-to-5 mentality.
• Strong people management skills and ability to coach and motivate employees.

Our client is a Belgian family business based in Meise, specialising in shopfitting and customised refrigeration solutions for the food sector. From a strong in-house production environment, they design, manufacture and assemble high-quality refrigeration furniture and interior projects for bakeries, butchers and supermarkets, among others.
