Procurement Engineer

Function

For our client in Lommel, we are looking for a Procurement Engineer. In this position, you will occupy yourself with the following range of tasks:

• Responsible for ensuring reliable suppliers and high-quality raw materials/equipment for glass production in Lommel.
• Develop and manage supplier quality management systems.
• Conduct supplier audits and assess compliance and performance.
• Optimise processes to drive continuous improvement and sustainability.
• Work closely with internal teams and suppliers for efficient onboarding and problem solving.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a candidate with:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Materials Science or Quality Management.
• At least 5-10 years' experience in supplier quality, procurement engineering or process management, preferably in glass, ceramics or metals industry.
• Command of tools such as ERP (SAP), MS Excel, FMEA, PPAP, 8D and control plans.
• Knowledge of EU and Belgian quality and environmental legislation.
• Analytical ability, attention to detail, structured working style and results-oriented approach.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Language skills: Dutch and English (German is a plus).
