Process engineer
Function
- You solve problems that arise in the production process and suggest structural improvements
- You will map out processes, develop methods to optimise them, and carry out optimisation tests
- You will initiate and lead improvement projects in areas such as safety, productivity and maintenance
- You will manage optimisation and implementation projects from start to finish. You will supervise and coordinate the relevant project team members and incorporate their technical advice. You will review the results, ensure they are properly documented and, where necessary, take further action
- You facilitate workshops to identify potential improvements as part of improvement initiatives. .
- You define and support process monitoring systems
- You perform risk assessments
- You will support production by drawing up standardised work instructions, process documents and standard operating procedures
Profile
To be eligible for this role, the following qualifications, skills and experience are required:
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or a related field; a master’s degree would be an advantage.
- At least 3–5 years’ relevant work experience in process engineering, production optimisation or machine development.
- Excellent technical and analytical skills, with a strong focus on problem-solving.
- Experience with documentation processes and staff training is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of PLC programming and experience with systems such as Siemens and TIA Portal.
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to feel at ease in a dynamic and sometimes chaotic working environment.
