EIA Expert

Function

As an EIA Expert, you will play a crucial role in supervising and coordinating environmental impact assessments (EIA) and related project studies from the office in the Ghent region.

Your responsibilities include:

• Independently plotting and implementing EIA study processes (both plan and project EIA) and guiding clients through complex procedures.
• Facilitate and guide the transition to environmental licensing.
• Collaborate with fellow experts and project leaders to achieve high-quality results.
• Looking after the interests of clients and projects while monitoring quality and financial follow-up.
• Switch between the EIA team and the environmental management team, with a focus on flexibility and collaboration.
• Report on progress and results to the manager.

Profile

To get started as an EIA Expert, we are looking for someone with:

• A master's degree in science or (bio)engineering.
• Recognition as an EIA expert or experience in preparing environmental impact reports.
• Knowledge of environmental impact assessment or environmental permit application procedures and willingness to undertake further training within these disciplines.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, the ability to take responsibility for projects and a team-oriented working attitude.
• A plus (but not a requirement): experience or qualifications in one or more of the following areas:
  • Sustainability (e.g. carbon footprint, CO2 performance ladder, VCDO, Ecovadis).
  • Possess a level I or II prevention advisor diploma.
  • Experience with management systems (ISO).
  • Affinity with spatial planning or planning.
  • Knowledge of handling hazardous products.
