Mechanical Engineer

Function

Our client is looking for a Product Developer - Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for developing and optimising machines and leading product development projects from A to Z. You will translate customer and market needs into technically feasible and innovative solutions.

Your duties will include:

• Develop new machines and optimise existing systems with a focus on performance, hygiene and reliability
• Translating customer needs and market trends into technical concepts and leading design and development teams
• Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and guidelines and performing calculations, risk analyses and design validations
• Leading product development projects from concept to market launch, including scope, planning and budget monitoring
• Coordinate prototyping and testing phases, analyse results and implement improvements
• Stimulate innovation and identify optimisations in terms of efficiency, cost and ergonomics
• Collaborate with sales and product management and participate in technical customer interactions

Profile

Our client is looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

• Masters in engineering
• Several years of experience in product development, preferably within industrial machinery or food industry
• Experience in project management within engineering or R&D
• Strong knowledge of 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks)
• Understanding of stainless steel design, hygienic design and manufacturing processes (sheet metal, machining, welding, assembly)
• Knowledge of relevant guidelines and methodologies (such as CE and FMEA)
• Creative, analytical and structured with a hands-on mentality
• Strong communication skills and leadership abilities
