Mechanical Design Engineer
Function
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work on challenging projects within the mechanical engineering sector. You will be responsible for the following range of tasks:
- Designing, elaborating and optimising mechanical structures and transport systems, with a clear focus on quality and innovative solutions.
- You will work closely with project managers, clients and the internal design team to manage each project from concept to realisation.
- The focus is on designing in SolidWorks and monitoring progress, while also keeping in close contact with the workshop.
- You will also contribute to the preparation of parts lists (BOM) so that the workshop can manufacture all components, production preparations and the follow-up of installations on site.
- You will be given the freedom to put forward creative ideas and play a key role in the success of various mechanisation projects.
Profile
To be successful in this role as a Mechanical Engineer, you have the following qualifications and skills:
- An undergraduate or engineering degree in Mechanics, Electromechanics or a similar field.
- Preferably already a first working experience within mechanical constructions, mechanical engineering or robotics (more years of experience is a strong plus).
- Knowledge of materials, production techniques, mechanical and pneumatic components.
- Excellent skills in 2D/3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar.
- Good command of Dutch and English, both written and oral.
- Organisationally strong with an eye for detail and deadlines.
- A results-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Affinity for engineering and a natural curiosity for innovative solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects simultaneously.

Based in Londerzeel, our client has more than 70 years of expertise in mechanical engineering and prototyping. They mainly focus on developing innovative machines, robotic systems, conveyors and transport systems. They are active in the pharma and food sector, but also focus on other industries. Moreover, they also have a workshop where they can manufacture everything in-house. To strengthen the 6-member design team, they are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer.

- An attractive salary of €3,000 to €5,000 (depending on experience and education).
