Maintenance & Reliability Engineer
Function
As a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer, you will manage and optimise the maintenance plans for the various installations on site. In doing so, you will take into account the specific maintenance strategy for both rotating and static equipment and ensure that all information is correctly processed and tracked in SAP.
- You will manage, monitor and optimise the preventative and predictive maintenance plans.
- You will be working with both rotating equipment, such as motors, pumps and other rotating systems, and static equipment, including, for example, systems used in water treatment.
- You will help determine the appropriate maintenance approach, depending on the type of installation and the technical requirements.
- You draw up maintenance plans and manage them in SAP.
- You will continue to expand the technical database and ensure that all maintenance data remains accurate and up to date.
- For new projects, installations or expansions, you will take the maintenance aspect into account and ensure that these are correctly integrated into the existing maintenance strategy.
- You organise and facilitate maintenance reviews with the various departments in order to critically assess maintenance plans and optimise them further.
- You will be working across around ten different departments, which means you will regularly hold consultations and meetings with the various technical and production departments.
- You monitor the condition of installations, analyse the available data and use this information to adjust the predictive maintenance programme.
- As a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer, you are a key user of SAP for maintenance management.
- You will support colleagues in using SAP and provide training where necessary.
- You will work closely with maintenance technicians, engineers, production departments and external technical partners.
- The role is mainly an office-based one, but due to the many contacts and meetings, you’ll be closely involved with the technical installations and the various departments on site.
Profile
For the role of Maintenance & Reliability Engineer, we are looking for someone who combines a technical interest with an analytical and structured approach to work. You do not necessarily need to have a full grasp of all maintenance methods yet, but you should be keen to learn and wish to specialise further in this area.
- You hold a Master’s degree in Industrial Sciences, Electromechanics or another relevant technical qualification.
- Initial experience in an industrial production or maintenance environment is a major asset.
- You are interested in preventative and predictive maintenance, reliability and condition monitoring.
- You will appreciate that different types of installations require different maintenance strategies.
- You enjoy working with technical data and find it interesting to analyse measurements and maintenance data.
- Knowledge of an ERP or maintenance management system is important.
- Experience with SAP is a major asset.
- You have strong organisational skills and are able to manage information in a structured way.
- You are a confident communicator and feel at ease organising and chairing meetings with various technical departments.
- You enjoy working with both internal colleagues and external partners.
- You are pragmatic, take the initiative and actively contribute ideas on how to improve processes.
- Safety is an absolute priority for you.
- A good command of Dutch is essential.
Organisation
You’ll be joining a major international industrial player at its site in the Ghent region.
The production site has an extensive and technically diverse range of machinery and plant and comprises around ten different departments. As a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer, this means you will be dealing with a wide variety of technical installations and maintenance issues.
Sustainability also plays an important role. The site has two on-site biomass power stations which, amongst other things, produce the necessary process steam. Together with three wind turbines, these ensure that a large proportion of the electricity required is generated locally.
Safety is a key priority within the organisation. In addition, there is a strong focus on training and technical development, enabling staff to deepen their knowledge and specialise further within their field.
