Junior Automation Engineer

Function

As a Junior Automation Engineer, you will help to automate new machines and systems. You will be involved in the entire automation cycle: from PLC programming and SCADA to testing, commissioning and providing support to international clients.

As a Junior Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Programming PLC controls for new machines
• Developing and configuring SCADA applications
• Programming in accordance with the machine’s functional specification
• Carrying out final functional tests prior to delivery
• Providing support for upgrades and service calls on existing machines
• Working with electrical engineers and project managers to select PLC and network components
• Aligning automation planning within ongoing projects
• International travel to provide support with the installation and commissioning of machinery (approximately 30%)

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an enthusiastic engineer who is keen to get to grips with industrial automation. You have an analytical mind, are a quick learner and enjoy collaborating on technical projects.

As a Junior Automation Engineer, you will have:

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation or a similar course
• A keen interest in PLC programming and industrial automation
• Knowledge of electrical diagrams and the ability to read and interpret them
• An interest in SCADA systems and machine control
• An affinity for programming languages such as .NET, C++, C# or SQL is an advantage
• An independent, structured and problem-solving approach to work
• A hands-on approach and a customer-focused attitude
• Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 30% both within and outside Europe)
• Good knowledge of English
