Heat Pump Service Technician

Function

As Heat Pump Service Technician You will be responsible for installing, connecting, commissioning, maintaining and repairing heat pump and HVAC systems. You will combine hands-on installation work with technical servicing and troubleshooting, working mainly on site.

In this role, you will have a varied range of responsibilities with a focus on sustainable technologies and modern systems. You will help develop systems that contribute to energy-efficient heating and cooling, and you will gain experience with geothermal heat pump technology and other HVAC applications.

Your main tasks:

• Fitting and installing heat pumps, including both indoor and outdoor units.
• Connecting hydraulic pipes, pumps, valves, expansion tanks and other system components.
• Connecting technical components to the mains and checking them.
• Carrying out the commissioning, testing and calibration of installations.
• Carry out preventive maintenance to ensure proper operation and reliability.
• Analysing faults, identifying defects and resolving technical problems.
• Replace parts and readjust the systems correctly.
• Monitor and adjust parameters such as temperatures, pressures and flow rates.
• Working on geothermal installations and other renewable energy technologies.
• Keep technical documentation and work orders up to date.
• To provide customers with clear and professional information about how their system works and how to use it.

You’ll be part of an environment where technology, sustainability and innovation come together. You can expect a role in which you’ll work independently, but will also regularly liaise with colleagues to ensure installations are completed smoothly and correctly.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a (service) technician with 3 to 5 years’ experience and a keen interest in heat pumps, HVAC and renewable energy. You don’t need to know how to do everything just yet, but you do need to have sufficient technical understanding to tackle installations, analyse problems and deliver high-quality work.

• Technical insight and a strong practical approach.
• Experience with, or an interest in, heat pumps, HVAC and sustainable energy technologies.
• Willingness to carry out both installation and maintenance work.
• Be able to work independently, but also function effectively as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a sense of responsibility.
• Working accurately, safely and in an orderly manner.
• A willingness to learn and to gain a deeper understanding of geothermal energy and heat pump technology.
• Driving Licence B.

Education and background:

• A2 qualification or a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent through experience.
• A technical background in a field such as electromechanics, HVAC/air conditioning, refrigeration technology, heating technology, electrical engineering or energy technology is an asset.
