Fire Protection Engineer

Function

You will have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of advanced technical solutions and international standards, regulations and certifications within the fire safety sector. In doing so, you will work closely with various internal departments, clients, certification bodies and external partners.

The role is varied and combines hands-on engineering, technical design, testing and certification management. You will also travel approximately once a month for purposes such as project support, certification audits, site assessments or visits to clients and partners.

As a Fire Protection Engineer:

• Provide technical support throughout the development, improvement and entire life cycle of fire safety products.
• You will familiarise yourself with relevant industry standards, regulations and certifications and apply them in product development.
• You work with external certification bodies, product specialists and regulatory authorities to obtain and maintain international approvals.
• Where relevant, take part in committees and consultations on industry standards.
• You will work directly with clients to tailor technical fire safety solutions to their specific applications.
• Develop your test programmes to assess product functionality, potential failure modes and application criteria.
• You monitor your test programmes, analyse the results and report your findings.
• Use your 3D CAD software for technical designs.
• Draw up your change instructions and update your product data and bills of materials (BOMs).
• You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Production and Quality to resolve technical issues and clarify requirements.
• Support your material assessments and technical analyses.
• You will travel approximately once a month for project support, certification audits and visits to clients or partners.

Profile

You have a technical background and are curious about how products and systems work. You combine an analytical mindset with a practical approach, and enjoy delving into a specialised technical environment.

In addition:

• Do you have a higher technical qualification? Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• Do you have a good practical knowledge of 3D CAD software and standard office software?.
• Are you highly motivated to learn about international standards, regulations and approval processes in the field of fire safety?.
• Do you have strong analytical skills and are you able to critically assess technical data?.
• Do you enjoy the challenge of analysing and solving complex technical problems?.
• Do you enjoy working with various internal departments and external partners?.
• Do you have strong communication skills and are you able to build and maintain professional relationships?.
• Are you willing to travel from time to time?.
• Do you have an excellent command of English, both spoken and written?.
