Electrical Engineer Automation
Function
- As Electrical Engineer Automation, you design and dimension electrical installations for automation projects and carry out the necessary technical calculations. In doing so, you lay a reliable foundation for safe and efficiently operating industrial installations.
- In consultation with the project manager, you translate clients' automation requirements into a feasible electrical design for, among other things, machine building, motion, robotics and process automation.
- You select components and materials for PLC-controlled installations, industrial networks, motor drives and safety applications. In doing so, you align technical choices with the project manager and the purchasing department.
- By thoroughly analysing electrical hardware, you produce accurate and detailed EPLAN diagrams. Where necessary, you also use AutoCAD and carry out cable calculations.
- You compile a complete technical file for all parties involved: a clear as-built file for the client, practical diagrams for efficient site execution and the required EPLAN data for the construction of bespoke control panels.
- For new installations, revamps, extensions and safety modifications, you monitor technical coherence and minimise installation time and downtime during conversion works.
- You apply the Machinery Directive and relevant safety standards, including EN 60204, and take into account risk assessment, Performance Level and safe control engineering.
Profile
- A bachelor's degree in electromechanics or electrical engineering forms the foundation, supplemented by approximately 3 to 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, electrical designer or similar role within industrial automation.
- You work fluently with EPLAN and have at least a practical understanding of AutoCAD and cable calculations. Knowledge of PLC hardware, safety components, motor drives, industrial networks, bus systems, field components and instrumentation helps you to develop designs in an integrated manner.
- Experience with safety standards and safety applications within machine building or industrial automation is important, as your files directly contribute to safe installations and correct execution.
- An analytical approach and strong attention to detail ensure that you process technical information accurately and deliver files that clients, site teams and panel builders can rely on.
- You combine independence with smooth collaboration in a project team, communicate in a client-focused manner and are able to express yourself in Dutch, with sufficient knowledge of French and English for technical alignment. A category B driving licence is required for the project context.
Organisation
Our client analyses the production process, defines and implements the automation concept and establishes the link with your existing administrative system (ERP). Moreover, we are able to offer the tools to manage your processes by means of MES functionality. In addition to process automation, we are also a partner in motion projects within your company.
Offer

- Through a personal training path with internal technical guidance and external training courses, you deepen your knowledge. Depending on your ambitions, there are also horizontal and vertical progression opportunities within the technology group.
- The role offers variety between design, consultation and project follow-up. You work with current technologies and receive on-the-job support whenever a project or technique calls for it.
- Those who appreciate this can take part in sporting initiatives and informal activities that strengthen contact with colleagues from various technical disciplines.
