Customs declarant

Function

As a customs declarant, you will join a team of 10 pre-eminent specialists where you will be responsible for the customs tasks listed below;

• Prepare, follow up or control the invoicing of transit or customs activities (payment suppliers, customs duties, declaration of exchanges of goods, etc.);
• Inform the client about the progress of the case, as well as suggest solutions in case of problems;
• Prepare and check documents for international movement of goods (customs invoice, unique administrative declaration, letter of credit, etc.);
• Collect transport documents of goods;
• Compile a record of the activity (transit, customs, etc.);
• Complete the administrative formalities for a transport service (transport document), air waybill (air transport), BL (sea transport), CMR (road transport), CIM (rail transport, ...)

Profile

As a customs declarant, you will possess the following customs qualities:

• You have completed a Customs training programme or have equivalent experience of at least 3 years;
• You will work from the office in Ghent and/or Zelzate;
• You have a good knowledge of Dutch and English, any other languages are an additional addition;
• Knowledge incoterms and commercial documents such as CMR, Bill of lading, Sea way bill, T1, T2 are familiar to you;
• Knowledge of preparation of customs clearance and clearance of goods;
• You are a flexible and accurate person.
