Designer / Project leader Mechanical Engineering
Function
As a Designer/Project Leader Mechanical Engineering, you will be responsible for the entire process of developing and following up new mechanical engineering projects. You play a crucial role in the mechanical design of machines and production lines, applying both existing machine principles and customised solutions. Your tasks include:
- Gathering specifications through consultation or by on-site measurements at the customer's premises.
- Designing customised machines and drawing them out in 3D with SolidWorks.
- Supporting sales by listing machine parts and preparing sales drawings.
- Daily consultation with staff in the workshop to ensure smooth and correct production.
- Providing mechanical work preparation and preparing production drawings.
- Assisting in purchasing specific parts, following up on orders and deliveries from your projects.
- Documenting the final as-built and any modifications to machine designs.
This role offers you the chance to see your designs take shape in real-time within a dynamic production environment in Ypres, West Flanders.
Profile
We are looking for a driven professional with the following qualifications and skills:
- A technical master's degree in (electro)mechanics, industrial production techniques, or equivalent through experience.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the mechanical engineering sector is a strong plus.
- Excellent technical understanding and skill in producing correct 3D drawings.
- Ability to work independently, be accurate and punctual after internal training.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to work well with colleagues and report to the case manager.
- A passion for machinery, engineering and working within a manufacturing environment.
