Designer

Location: Neder-over-heembeek, Brussels, Belgium Specialisation: Construct Engineering Salary: € 3.500 - € 5.500 gross / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 40 hrs/week Work ritme: Day

Function

How do you translate a design into a technically feasible plan?

  • As Designer formwork and reinforcement plans, you translate client briefs into digital designs that are directly usable in the execution of construction and infrastructure projects.
  • You produce accurate reinforcement, formwork, site layout and detail plans using AutoCAD and, where relevant, Strakon or Revit.
  • By accurately calculating volumes and weights of, among other things, concrete and reinforcement, you provide project teams with reliable technical information for preparation and execution.
  • You use 3D models and BIM coordination to align various disciplines and make potential conflicts visible before work commences.
  • In consultation with Project Managers, structural engineers, topography, site managers and clients, you refine designs to ensure they are technically feasible and aligned with the construction site.
  • You produce As-Built plans and OTL-compliant As-Builts and help to further improve draughting standards, working methods and quality controls.
  • Thanks to your experience as a technical draughtsman, you can support colleagues on content, review draughting work and share knowledge within a multidisciplinary team that collaborates from multiple office locations.
  • You work from Neder-Over-Heembeek on projects related to, among other things, tunnels, bridges, hydraulic structures and industrial projects.

Profile

Are you accurate down to the smallest detail?

  • A technical qualification at a minimum A2 level forms the basis of your expertise, supplemented by at least five years of relevant experience in designing formwork and reinforcement plans.
  • You are proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Strakon and/or Revit is a clear added value for collaboration around 3D models and BIM.
  • You combine technical insight with an analytical approach: you break down complex problems, review your work carefully and translate information into workable plans.
  • Independence and ownership help you to take assignments from start to finish, whilst consultation and clear communication ensure good alignment with colleagues and project partners.
  • You communicate fluently in Dutch. Knowledge of French is useful in contacts with various stakeholders, but your technical accuracy and collaborative mindset come first.

Organisation

Our client creates space through the construction and renovation of, among other things, tunnels, bridges, hydraulic structures and industrial projects. Within the internal design office, designers, structural engineers, Planning & Methods Engineers and other technical experts work together to support projects from design through to execution. Thanks to BIM and 3D models, various plans are integrated and potential errors can be identified at an early stage. The design office is in close contact with Project Managers, site managers, clients, Topography and other internal departments. This ensures that technical designs are not only worked out accurately, but also aligned with the practical reality of the construction site.

The organisation places great importance on expertise, quality and continuous development. You will find yourself in a people-focused environment where collegiality and open communication are central. Teams work together on complex projects and share knowledge to continuously improve processes and results. Alongside the substantive challenge, there is room for connection, with team activities, events and informal moments with colleagues. This gives you the opportunity to make your technical contribution visible within an organisation that combines innovation and collaboration.

Offer

What do you get in return for your technical expertise?

  • An attractive salary that takes your relevant experience and expertise into account, complemented by a comprehensive package of fringe benefits.
  • A structured onboarding process familiarises you with the organisation, working methods and collaboration between the design office, project teams and construction site.
  • You work from Neder-Over-Heembeek in an environment where design and execution are closely aligned. Coordination with colleagues at other office locations and on construction sites is part of the role.
  • You are given room to share knowledge, mentor colleagues and contribute to building standards and processes that enhance the quality of the draughting work.
  • Collaboration with BIM specialists, structural engineers, topography, Project Managers and other technical experts broadens your expertise and keeps your work varied in content.
  • In addition to professional development, attention is given to collegial connection through team activities, events and informal moments.
