Function

As Design & Project Engineer, Mechanical Engineering You will contribute to industrial installations for bulk handling and mechanical engineering that are technically sound from concept through to completion. You will translate ideas into workable 3D models, detailed drawings and production drawings, whilst actively contributing ideas regarding assembly, manufacturability and practical implementation.

In this role, you will combine design work with project monitoring and move seamlessly between engineering, the workshop and assembly. You will have the opportunity to work on bespoke projects involving a wide range of technical challenges, where your design will have a direct impact on the implementation on the shop floor.

Your responsibilities:

• 3D modelling of installations and steel structures in CAD, with a focus on technical precision and feasibility.
• Preparation of detailed drawings, assemblies and production documentation.
• Designing and integrating systems into existing environments based on 3D scans and point clouds.
• Consult with the workshop and assembly teams to adapt designs to the practical realities of production and assembly.
• Drawing up parts lists and preparing files for production and implementation.
• To contribute to the management of projects from design through to completion.
• Analyse existing designs and optimise them where necessary.

Profile

For this position, we are looking for a Design & Project Engineer, Mechanical Engineering with some initial experience and a strong technical foundation. You feel at home in an environment where design and implementation are closely linked and where you take on responsibility independently within projects.

Your profile:

• You have experience with 3D CAD, preferably Creo; experience with another package is certainly open to discussion.
• You have a technical understanding of mechanical engineering, steel structures or industrial plant.
• You think practically and in a solution-oriented way, and take into account manufacturability and assembly.
• You are able to work independently, but also collaborate effectively with colleagues from the workshop, assembly and project monitoring teams.
• You take responsibility and monitor cases closely.
• Experience with point clouds, 3D scans or Navisworks is an advantage.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in-depth on technical matters, values attention to detail and, at the same time, maintains a broad overview. You have the maturity to help drive projects forward and the drive to improve designs step by step.
