Data Centre Project Manager

Function

• You will manage the scope, schedule, project budget and contract documentation.
• You draw up project plans, monitor progress and make adjustments where necessary.
• You will coordinate work within multidisciplinary project teams and ensure efficient collaboration.
• You will coordinate collaboration between the Belgian team and international project teams.
• You will play a coordinating role within the Belgian MCF hub and between various international teams.
• You will monitor quality, progress and risks throughout the entire project.
• You will coordinate design and engineering activities with internal teams, clients and external parties.
• You will oversee design choices, changes and decision-making, and ensure that these are in line with the project objectives.
• You will maintain active contact with clients and act as a key point of contact throughout the project.
• You will support and coordinate the implementation phase and ensure a smooth transition from design to completion.
• You identify opportunities and risks and ensure that these are discussed and followed up in a timely manner.
• You communicate clearly about the project status, progress, schedule, budget and any issues.

Profile

You are a results-oriented and proactive Project Manager with a strong sense of teamwork, quality and responsibility. You are in your element in an international and technically complex project environment and know how to effectively bring together different disciplines and stakeholders.

• You have a Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a similar technical discipline.
• You have at least 5 years’ experience in managing and co-ordinating multidisciplinary design, engineering or construction projects.
• Experience in data centres, industry or other complex built environments is a strong advantage.
• You have proven experience in leading project teams and liaising with internal and external stakeholders, such as engineers, consultants, contractors and clients.
• You have an affinity for digital and computerised design and engineering processes, including 3D design and BIM environments such as BIM360. The engineers are responsible for producing the technical drawings.
• You have a good knowledge of relevant regulations, standards and working practices within the design and construction sector.
• You have a good understanding of project budgets, schedules, risks and contractual agreements.
• You understand clients’ operational needs and know how to translate these into practical, high-quality solutions.
• You communicate clearly and persuasively with both colleagues and customers.
• You speak and write English fluently. Knowledge of Dutch and/or French would be an advantage.

Organisation

You will be working for an international consultancy and engineering firm that specialises in design, engineering and consultancy for technically complex and mission-critical environments. The organisation has a highly specialised division for Mission-Critical Facilities (MCF), with a strong focus on data centres.

Working from various international locations, you will collaborate with leading data centre companies in Europe, Africa, Asia and the United Kingdom on innovative and sustainable solutions. As digital technologies continue to grow, so too does the team.

We are looking for a Project Manager to support the further expansion of our operations in Belgium. You will join an existing Plant Engineering team and work alongside colleagues in Belgium and across the international MCF organisation on challenging data centre projects for national and international clients.

In Belgium, we are actively developing an MCF hub. You will play an active role in projects carried out in collaboration with international offices. In addition, you will fulfil a key coordinating role for the Belgian market and be closely involved in the management and delivery of projects for clients.
