Civil Engineer
Function
As a Civil Engineer in Ternat, you will oversee technical construction projects from design through to completion. You will translate the needs of clients and project partners into feasible, safe and efficient solutions for structural connections, reinforcement, anchoring and lifting techniques. In doing so, you will collaborate with architects, contractors, engineers and in-house experts within an international environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- You will take ownership of projects from the initial technical analysis right through to providing support during implementation.
- You will develop bespoke structural engineering solutions for a wide range of projects in residential, non-residential and infrastructure construction.
- You analyse plans, technical specifications and client enquiries, and translate these into well-thought-out designs and calculations.
- You will provide technical advice to clients, architects, contractors and other project partners.
- You will draw up technical quotations, product proposals and related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- You will liaise with colleagues and the sales organisation to provide efficient and commercially sound support for projects.
- You monitor the practical applicability of solutions and contribute ideas on possible improvements during implementation.
- You’ll be contributing to innovative construction solutions that make structures stronger, safer and more efficient.
In this role, you will combine technical depth with customer contact and project-based collaboration. You will be given the opportunity to further develop your expertise and gradually take on more responsibility within an organisation that combines international expertise with local drive.
Profile
For this entry-level role, we are looking for an analytical and inquisitive civil engineer who enjoys turning technical challenges into practical solutions. You do not need to have extensive experience yet: a solid educational background, an interest in civil engineering and the motivation to learn are the most important prerequisites.
Ideally, you should bring the following with you:
- A Master’s degree in industrial sciences, civil engineering, architectural engineering or architecture.
- Initial professional experience, an internship or project experience in architecture, engineering or technical building solutions would be an advantage.
- A keen interest in the construction sector, technical design and applications relating to joining, anchoring, reinforcement or lifting technology.
- An analytical and meticulous approach to work, with a focus on technical feasibility, safety and attention to detail.
- Experience with MS Office and, preferably, knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM or similar design and engineering tools.
- The ability to process technical information clearly and explain it in a way that is easy to understand to a variety of people.
- Good communication skills in Dutch, French and English.
- An independent, keen to learn and team-oriented attitude.
- The ambition to specialise further and, in time, take on a more significant role in technical project management.
You don’t need to have mastered everything from day one. An open-minded approach to learning, a sense of responsibility and an interest in the interplay between design and implementation are just as important.
