Electrical engineering calculator

Function

As a Calculator, you are a crucial link in the quotation preparation process.

Below is a sample of your duties:

• Calculate and compile competitive quotes that meet the needs of clients, mainly construction and manufacturing companies.
• Based on specifications, bills of quantities or other input, you determine what materials, working hours and engineering costs are needed to make projects a success.
• You lead thorough price comparisons, liaise with suppliers and subcontractors, and monitor the profit margin. In addition, you occasionally visit construction sites to assess technical situations. You work closely with account managers and project management and report directly to the CEO.
• The main location of your work is in Aalst.

Profile

To be successful in this role, you will meet the following requirements:

• You have a bachelor's or graduate degree in an electrical-oriented field or at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• You work in a structured way and are numerically strong.
• Proficiency in low-voltage electrical networks, cable calculations and knowledge of AREI standards are a strong plus.
• You have communication skills, both with colleagues and customers and suppliers.
• Experience with software such as MS Office is required; knowledge of E-plan, Autocad and Caneco is a plus.
• You are driven, can work independently and meet deadlines.
• Creativity and a solution-oriented mindset are important in this role.

Organisation

Our client is an electrical installation company active in the industrial and tertiary sector (manufacturing companies, governments, schools, railways,...). They currently have about 15 employees of their own and operate all over Belgium. They place a very strong focus on quality and safety. Their activities include industrial lighting, general electrical installations, sign building, conformity and optimisation of electrical installations,... To strengthen the team, they are currently looking for an additional calculator.
