Electrical engineering calculator

Location: Mechelen, Antwerp, Belgium Specialisation: Engineering Salary: € 4.000 - € 5.500 bruto / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 40 hrs/week Work ritme: Day

Function

Do you work in industrial electrical engineering and know exactly how an electrical installation works? Are you ready for the next step, making full use of your knowledge of the field and your organisational side? We are looking for a calculator for permanent employment with a reliable electrical engineering company in the Mechelen region. In this department of three calculators (one of whom will retire soon), you can make an immediate impact. You will become important in the stability and growth of the team - and get plenty of room to learn, grow and share your experience.

In this role, you are the link for everything to do with drawing up and elaborating price calculations and quotations for industrial electrotechnical projects. You ensure that requests from customers, project managers or government contracts are converted into sharp, clear and technically correct quotations. Thanks to your experience and technical insight, you estimate the right materials, working hours and prices, so that projects are always on point from the start.

  • You draw up quotations quickly and accurately and follow them up with the customer or project manager. This increases the chance that your calculations will lead to new orders.
  • You don't just focus on the figures, but think proactively with the client and the project team about the best approach and smart solutions. You dare to make suggestions and see opportunities for better proposals.
  • Most of your work will be done at your computer, but when necessary you will make a site visit to correctly assess situations or speak to customers in person.
  • You will continue to communicate with suppliers, clients, architects or engineering firms, becoming a trusted point of contact for technical queries on your files.
  • You ensure orderly administrative processing and complete, correct handover to project management. This way, execution can start right away.
  • Thanks to your stress-resistance, helicopter view and eye for detail, you know how to plan your work well, set the right priorities and meet your deadlines - even when things get extra busy.
  • In this team, you are definitely not a number: working together, sharing knowledge and helping each other is a matter of course. Everyone does their bit so that the work remains feasible and fun for everyone.

Profile

  • You have an education in electricity or electromechanics, or you learned everything on the job - both are welcome.
  • You know the field and know from experience how industrial electrical installations work and what they cost.
  • You understand technical plans, can estimate well what is needed in terms of materials and working hours, and know what to look out for on projects in the industry.
  • You are not afraid of administration: making and following up offers, requesting prices, putting documents in order for (strict) government contracts - you work neatly and in a structured way.
  • You can handle Excel or an ERP package fluently, but you do not need to be an IT professional.
  • You communicate easily and clearly with colleagues, suppliers and customers, both verbally and via email.
  • You speak Dutch fluently. If you can speak some French or English, that is a nice touch, but not a must.
  • You work systematically, remain calm under time pressure and prioritise your work yourself.
  • Collaboration is important to you - you share your knowledge, help your colleagues and want to achieve a good result together.
