BIM Coordinator

Function

As BIM Coordinator In Oudsbergen, you’ll play a central role in the digital preparation and execution of construction projects. You’ll bring together architecture, structural engineering, technical systems, engineering, production and site works into a single, clear digital narrative. Thanks to your overview, models don’t just look good on screen – they’re also technically feasible on site.

You will be working within an integrated construction environment where quality, bespoke solutions and efficient project monitoring are key. As you gain experience, you will be given ample scope to work independently, critically assess processes and use BIM in increasingly effective ways.

• Coordinates BIM models for various construction projects and ensures that disciplines such as architecture, structural engineering and building services are aligned.
• Checks models for quality, completeness, consistency and applicability.
• Carries out clash detection, model checks and quality checks, and translates the results into concrete actions.
• Identifies technical bottlenecks and works with engineering, project planning, project management and external construction partners to find viable solutions.
• Monitors BIM agreements, standards, naming conventions, workflows and the exchange of information between project partners.
• Supports BIM modellers and colleagues with technical and BIM-related queries and actively shares your knowledge.
• Ensures that models and project information can be used to facilitate efficient preparation and execution on site.
• You will contribute ideas on process improvements, new digital applications and the practical further roll-out of BIM within the organisation.

Your place of work is located in Oudsbergen, Limburg. From there, you’ll work alongside colleagues and construction partners on technically challenging projects where a well-coordinated model makes all the difference.

Profile

For this role, our client is looking for someone with a strong background in construction engineering, who enjoys bringing structure to complex information and who has no hesitation in bringing together different disciplines around the same model. You don’t need to know every BIM function inside out, but you do understand what is required – technically, organisationally and practically – to make a model work.

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, applied architecture or a comparable technical discipline, or have equivalent experience.
• Relevant experience using BIM in construction projects.
• You have a strong understanding of structural engineering and spatial planning, and you understand how design choices affect production and implementation.
• Experience with BIM software; a good knowledge of Revit is important.
• Solibri, Navisworks, Tekla, Dalux or BIMcollab is a nice bonus.
• Is familiar with IFC and understands how information is exchanged between different models, software packages and disciplines.
• Quickly identifies where designs, techniques or construction methods come into conflict and contributes to finding solutions.
• Works accurately, in a structured manner and consistently: exemplary quality often lies in the details that others overlook.
• Communicates effectively with architects, engineers, modellers, project teams and external construction partners.
• You are able to explain technical information clearly to both experienced BIM users and colleagues who work with models less frequently.
• Are you curious about new technologies and do you find improving digital construction processes energising?.
• Speaks and writes Dutch fluently.
