Vacancy

Insurance administrator

Location: Hasselt, Limburg, Belgium Specialisation: Finance Salary: € 3.000 - € 4.000 gross / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 37.5 h/week Work ritme: 4/5, Day

Function

  • As an Insurance Administrator, you combine administrative accuracy with personal client contact. You support existing colleagues and ensure that insurance queries are handled smoothly, correctly, and clearly.
  • From Hasselt, you handle files for private individuals, self-employed clients, and businesses, with a portfolio that is currently still strongly focused on private individuals and is being broadened further.
  • You analyse queries, think along about optimisations, and develop proposals within a broad range of insurance solutions across various insurers.
  • Depending on your strengths, you primarily take on back-office work, front-office contact, or a balanced combination of both. This includes managing policies, processing applications, preparing appointments, and advising clients.
  • Clients can turn to you as their point of contact for their insurance queries. You make complex information clear and build trust during conversations at the office, over the phone, or at the client's home.
  • You largely organise your own diary and follow-up. Thanks to a well-accessible first telephone line, relevant queries reach the right person and you retain the space to work with quality.
  • You contribute to a collegial way of working in which work is shared, successes are celebrated as a team, and everyone helps each other when needed.

Profile

  • You preferably have at least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in insurance, ideally within an independent brokerage, so that you can handle files largely independently.
  • A broad knowledge of insurance products and an interest in both personal and professional risks help you to advise clients in a targeted manner and to draw connections quickly.
  • You combine commercial acumen with administrative accuracy: listening, recognising opportunities, registering correctly, and following up consistently go hand in hand for you.
  • A qualification or knowledge within the usual insurance training programmes is an advantage. More importantly, you are willing to keep your professional knowledge up to date and take responsibility for your files.
  • You work in a collegial and reliable manner. Because the team deliberately chooses collaboration over internal competition, open communication, mutual support, and setting priorities independently are essential.

Organisation

At this office, personal contact, quality, and genuine attention are central. Clients can walk in or call without any barrier, and time is deliberately taken to listen carefully and think along with them. The team opts for collaboration and trust, with colleagues who strengthen one another rather than compete.

The team is stable, collegial, and built from a great mix of ages and personalities that complement each other well.

Today the focus remains strongly on private individuals and self-employed clients, alongside an already broader client portfolio towards businesses. The office aims to develop that mix further towards a more balanced 50/50 split and offers a comprehensive range through various insurers, providing variety and substantive diversity.

Offer

  • A gross monthly salary of approximately €3,000 to €4,500, aligned with your relevant experience, knowledge, and the responsibility you take on.
  • A full-time position is preferred; a 4/5 schedule is open to discussion. A part-time arrangement is less well suited to the needs of this role.
  • You receive a package including group insurance, hospitalisation insurance, meal vouchers, eco-vouchers, and an end-of-year bonus.
  • You receive 20 statutory holiday days, supplemented by the applicable public holidays. Bridge days and the arrangement regarding overtime are discussed by mutual agreement.
  • A company car is open to discussion. Travel expenses for professional journeys are reimbursed; no fuel card is provided.
  • Working from home is open to discussion and in practice every employee typically works one fixed day from home. You manage your diary in consultation and are trusted to organise your work and hours effectively.
  • You work during office hours according to a workable schedule with sufficient staffing and tailored arrangements. Evening appointments are possible by mutual agreement, whilst there is no structural evening opening.
  • You will join a stable, people-oriented team of varied personalities who work well together. Coaching conversations and team objectives provide room to further develop your approach and expertise.
