We are currently looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to join the finance team for this organisation in the Wilrijk region. As Senior Bookkeeper, your duties will include the following:

• Monitoring customer and supplier accounts on a daily basis to ensure they are up-to-date at all times.
• Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual statements.
• Preparing and checking VAT and intra-community returns.
• Entering bank statements.
• Making weekly payments in Isabel.
• Ad hoc reporting for local management and the holding company in Germany.
• Ad hoc projects.
• Assist in the six-monthly audits.
• Assist in month-end closing.
• Reconciliations balance sheet accounts.

Within this remit, you will work closely with the Chief Accountant.

As Senior Accountant, you will join this organisation in the Wilrijk area. In total, there are approximately 100 employees within Belgium, of which 35 or so work in Wilrijk. You will be working in a very friendly atmosphere with a real SME mentality. On the other hand, you will get a taste of working in an international context as this company is part of an international group operating in more than 13 European countries.

To fill this role of Senior Bookkeeper, we are looking for the following profile:

• You hold a bachelor's degree in an accounting discipline or equivalent.
• You have already been able to build up several years of experience within an accounting role, where you have been exposed to at least A to Y accounting.
• You know how to express yourself professionally in Dutch, in addition you speak a fair bit of English. A basic knowledge of German is a nice plus.
• You are able to set your own priorities in work. You also know how to adapt to a changing environment. 
• You are fluent in MS Office, knowledge of Navision is a plus.
• You are a communicative person.
• You are naturally someone with a positive attitude and you are a team player.
