- As a project engineer, you will take the lead in designing or co-designing energy projects, and this during the different stages of the project.

- It deals with the design of energy projects and systems such as cold-heat integration, waste-heat valorisation, expansion of heat networks, integration of renewable energy sources, hydraulic optimisation, etc. Often in an industrial context, but also in area development and larger tertiary and residential projects.

- You will mainly work as a technical expert in the study phase of energy projects. You will help build a vision of the future for energy and utility systems and develop this into master plans. You thoroughly analyse existing systems and the requirements for new installations. You examine various scenarios for optimisation and future concepts, and assess them not only in terms of technical but also economic feasibility, together with the project team.

- After conceptual work, you move on to detailed design: you design and dimension installations and components (CHP, chillers, storage, geothermal, hydraulic networks, backup boilers, etc.).

- In doing so, you will prepare process diagrams (PFDs), hydraulic diagrams (P&IDs), functional descriptions, etc.

- In preparation for the realisation of projects, you will provide support in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, and tendering.

- During execution, you may help follow up the project to help ensure that all technical requirements are correctly translated into practice.

- You do all this together, in team; you are not alone.

- You are a driven engineer with a passion for energy and utilities. Ideally, you will have several years of experience in the field.

- Good knowledge of hydraulics, piping, automation or ... is a plus.

- You like to get to grips with complex issues and enjoy looking for innovative solutions.

- You are critical, also of your own work. You dare to question existing working methods and look for the most optimal solution.

- You can deal with clients in a customer-focused manner.

- Although you can work independently, you dare to ask for help and are open to input from others. You like to score as a team.

- You have a sound financial basis, for example for preparing cost-benefit analyses.

- Thanks to your open mind, you are able to absorb and implement best practices and technological innovations.
