Offer

You will end up in a position with a lot of responsibility and variation in your work. You will mainly work from the office in Lokeren, but for technically more challenging projects you will sometimes go along to customers to work out the solutions together with sales. There is also room for further training and courses (e.g. welding coordination) and there is also a transitional arrangement whereby you can shadow the current project engineer.

Furthermore, you can count on a competitive salary complemented by a bonus scheme. You will work a 38-hour week where you can choose your own leave. Only between Christmas and New Year is there a collective closure.

Function

As a Project Engineer, you will be the pivotal figure in the calculation, design and realisation of customised solutions for warehouse equipment. You will work closely with sales staff, workshop staff and fitters to ensure that each project is technically feasible and of high quality. You have a hands-on mentality and can function both independently and as part of a team.

Below is a sample of your duties:

  •  Design and Calculation: You will be responsible for making strength calculations and stability analyses for various warehouse equipment, such as mezzanine floors and shelving with partitions and plates.
  • Project management: You will manage the entire process from order to installation, including ordering profiles, checking sales drawings and coordinating assembly.
  • Technical support: You provide technical support to sales staff and fitters, ensuring the correct specifications for each order.
  • Welding coordination: You can (or learn to) provide welding coordination and offer the necessary support and courses in this regard.
  • -        Software usage: You will work with AutoCAD 2D and sometimes Turbocad for drawing work.

Organisation

Our client is a leading company specialising in the manufacture and installation of customised warehouse equipment. With a focus on both standard solutions and bespoke projects, they serve a diverse customer base in Belgium, France, the Netherlands and, to a lesser extent, Germany. Their expertise lies in steel structures, timber departments and the assembly of complex platforms and mezzanines. They are currently with a team of about 25 and are looking for a project engineer to replace them due to retirement.

Profile

As a Project Engineer, you will largely meet the following job requirements:

  • You are an industrial engineer in electromechanics, structural engineering or similar.
  • You have at least 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in steel construction, structural works or related sectors.
  • You have experience in strength and stability calculations.
  • You have knowledge of Autocad 2D.
  • You have an affinity for steel structures and welding.
  • You already have practical knowledge of welding coordination or are willing to take a course offered by the employer for this purpose.
  • You speak very good Dutch. You can also express yourself in French (this certainly does not have to be perfect).
  • You are analytically strong and can problem-solve.
  • You are stress-resistant and flexible in a dynamic working environment.
  •  You have a hands-on mentality.
  • You have an independent working attitude with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • You are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Apply for this vacancy.

We will get back to you as soon as possible.
