Function

As Production Manager, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  1. You are the indispensable link between management and your employees.
  2. You will manage the entire extrusion team (warehouse, production, engineering) and work closely with quality
  3. You have ultimate responsibility for the entire extrusion plant with a shift system.
  4. You identify and convert customer requirements into production and product specifications, working closely with the quality manager.
  5. You will be responsible for the daily operation of the plant:
  •  Achieve production output to supply customers in a timely manner.
  • You are responsible for safety, environment and quality.
  • You achieve the agreed KPIs within the agreed budget (safety, quality, OEE, personnel, maintenance).
  • You prepare production and raw material planning.
  • You implement and safeguard production methods -and standards.
  • You will ensure proper operation, technical condition and maintenance of the installations.
  • You make measurements and results visible and discuss them with employees during daily, weekly and monthly meetings.
  • You solve production problems and set priorities for your team.
  1. You are responsible for the staff:
  • You coach, motivate and support your team in the performance of their duties.
  • You are responsible for good communication within the plant.
  • You ensure optimal staffing levels in consultation with shift leaders.
  • You will be involved in HR processes such as recruitment & selection, reception, absenteeism follow-up.
  • You will be responsible for employee knowledge development, training and education.
  • You are responsible for your team's evaluations.
  1. You continuously strive to improve:
  • You implement the group's vision and give direction to the teams.
  • You annually prepare the "Operational Excellence Plan" with final operational and financial results.
  • You direct and coordinate investments and improvement projects in terms of safety, quality and production process.

Since its establishment in 1994, the company has grown strongly and, in addition to the main site in Wetteren, it now has production sites in the United States, Russia, Spain, Hungary and various other European countries. The Wetteren site employs around 150 people and still has a family atmosphere.

Profile

As a production manager, you can largely tick off the following items:

  • You have a technical master's degree or are equivalent through experience.
  • You have at least 5 years' experience in an industrial production environment.
  • You have a space technical knowledge and understanding in terms of production processes.
  • Experience within plastics is a plus.
  • You have a coaching approach and are a team player.
  • You are pragmatic/hands-on and results-oriented.
  • You are strong in planning and organising, know how to set priorities and dare to take necessary decisions.
  • You have fluent IT knowledge (Word, Excel, ERP systems, MES systems ...).
